Register for Door Shakespeare’s Camp Will

Door Shakespeare is accepting registrations for its summer youth theater program, Camp Will: a weeklong workshop dedicated to developing communication, language and group social skills through creative play and group scene work. Spaces are available for participants ages 8-17 for the second and third sessions: July 25-29 and Aug. 8-12

Each day begins with theater games and warm-ups. Then participants gather in groups based on age and experience. Younger students approach Shakespeare’s words through rhythm, playful language exercises and story drama. Older students work on vocal and physical techniques that enrich the meaning of Shakespeare’s text.

All sessions are held outdoors on the grounds of Door Shakespeare’s theater at Björklunden in Baileys Harbor, and campers conclude their week by sharing scene work on the Door Shakespeare stage and watching their instructors perform in The Tempest.

Camp Will director Katherine E. Norman will lead a team of five professional actors/teaching artists from the Door Shakespeare theater company: Scott McKenna Campbell, Na’Tosha De’Von, Christopher Elst, Jamey Feshold and Christine Saenz. Camp Will graduates Amélie Doneff and Dalena Pakalske, along with newcomer Rori Krueger, will join the team as teaching apprentices.
