Register for Kewaunee Back-to-School Program

Registration is under way for the back-to-school program organized annually by the Kewaunee County Public Health Department to provide some of the required school supplies for children in need. Families that qualify for assistance are those on WIC, Food Share or BadgerCare; those who partake in the free or reduced-cost breakfast or lunch programs; and those who have found themselves in an emergency situation.

Registration forms are available at the Kewaunee County Public Health Department, Algoma Public Library and Fox Communities Credit Union in Luxemburg. The deadline to register is Aug. 5. Supplies will be distributed Aug. 14 at Lakehaven Hall, 96 Ellis St. in Kewaunee. Registration forms received after the Aug. 5 deadline will be accepted, but those registrants will be assigned a later pick-up time. Walk-ins may go to Lakehaven Hall on Aug. 14, 4:30-5 pm.

If you’d like to donate supplies or funds, please do so before Aug. 5. Send checks to Kewaunee County Public Health Department, Attn: Deanne Schultz, 810 Lincoln St., Kewaunee, WI 54216. Various school supplies are needed. Donors may place them in donation boxes in many of the area churches or Nicolet National Bank in Luxemburg, or take them to the Kewaunee County Administration Center and Kewaunee County Public Health Department, 810 Lincoln St.
