Register for the Kids Triathlon

The Door County Triathlon draws some of the greatest athletes from across the country. On this weekend every year, records are broken, goals are accomplished, and dreams become realities. The YMCA and Ministry Door County Medical Center (MDCMC) are thrilled to offer the youth of Door County the opportunity run, bike, and swim in their very own triathlon.

Children ages 4 to 14-years-old can register now for the Kids Triathlon on July 20.

The annual Kids Triathlon will be held at the Door County YMCA’s Sturgeon Bay Center, 1900 Michigan St., on at 1:30 pm. There will be three age divisions with varying lengths for the swim, bike and run. The swim will be held indoors and the running and biking will be held around the YMCA grounds and nearby neighborhoods.

MDCMC and the YMCA would like to stress friendly competition, the importance of staying healthy and fit, and the rewards of meeting personal goals with this event. “At Ministry, we are proud to support community opportunities like the Kids Triathlon because it is important to introduce physical activity and friendly competition to our kids, so that both become just a part of life as they grow up,” says Matt Luders, MDCMC Business Health and Wellness Executive.

Registration fee is $20 on or before July 1 and $25 after July 1. Race day registration is from 7 am to 12 pm, and packet pickup begins at 4 pm on July 19. Overall times for participants will be available, however all those who participate and give their best will be a winner and receive a t-shirt and award.
