Registration is Open for The Clearing’s Winter Classes

Registration is now open for The Clearing Folk School’s Winter Program classes, which start Jan. 6 and run through Feb. 28. Over 110 adult daytime classes are being offered again this year in the arts, fine crafts, natural sciences and humanities. Students will have the opportunity to exhibit their work during the Winter Program Student Exhibit, scheduled for March 1 and 2 at the Sister Bay Village Hall.

The perfect time to sign up for winter program classes is during the Clearing’s Holiday Open House, scheduled for Dec. 5 and 6 from 10 am – 4 pm. There will be homemade mulled apple cider and tasty treats to try by a crackling fire. Plus, $5 raffle tickets are available for prizes that include a free week for a 2014 Summer Resident class (approximately a $900 value), a two-day 2013 Workshop class (approximately a $170 value), or a $75 gift certificate to The Clearing’s Bookstore and Gift Shop. The drawing is Dec. 20; no need to be present to win.

In addition, The Clearing will host a “Welcome Winter” wine and cheese evening fundraiser reception on Dec. 12 from 4 – 7 pm at the Jens Jensen Visitor Center. Tickets are $50 per person, reservations required.

Class registrations are accepted online, in-person or through the mail prior to the “lottery” deadline date of December 13. After Dec. 13, phone registration is also available and classes will be filled on a first come, first registered basis, as space permits.
