Registration Open for Running Green

Now is the time to register for the 3rd annual Running Green for Crossroads, 2k, 5k, and 10k trail run or walk event on June 23. The run takes place on a 115-acre preserve at Crossroads at Big Creek in Sturgeon Bay. Running Green is an event for all ages and all levels of runners and walkers.

“This is the best run we have ever attended, and I do a lot of runs!” said Katie Heimer of Stevens Point. “The area is beautiful and everything is so well organized!”

Every participant will receive a black spruce donated by Evergreen Nursery and post-run refreshments consisting of Door County sundaes of homemade ice cream from Schopf’s Dairy View Country Store, topped with cherries from Lautenbach Orchards, and granola from The Black Walnut Guest House.

This year’s awards include pottery by Kris Kolinski of Clay on Steele, maple syrup from Henschel Farms, honey donated by Wienkes Market, and day lilies by Lakeshores Landscape and Design. Paper goods are biodegradable and food waste is composted.
