Registration Opens for Fall Challenge Bike Ride

Cyclists can now register for the Peninsula Century Fall Challenge.

Riders can save $15 off on-site registration by signing up by June 1 for the Sept. 15, 2018 ride in Sister Bay. Riders also get $10 off the June’s Spring Classic ride in Baileys Harbor when they sign up by March 31.

The fall challenge is a showcase of beautiful countryside, lakeshore vistas, and the best in local food and drinks. Riders can select from four scenic routes through northern Door County, all of which start and end at Sister Bay’s Waterfront Park. Routes of 25, 50, 62, and 100 miles all include fun themed aid stations with featured food items from local chefs, and a post-ride lunch from Thyme Catering and other local favorites.

Wash it all down with brews from Door County Brewing Co. and unlimited kombucha from Sister Bay’s Tapuat Kombucha.

The ride’s shorter routes feature largely flat terrain, while the 62- and 100-mile distances add some of the peninsula’s most challenging hills. Riders taking on the century distance are automatically entered into the Door County Brewing Co. Polka King of the Hills Challenge, with a jersey awarded to the top climbers in the ride, with additional prizes for top finishers in four age divisions.

The Peninsula Century Fall Challenge is organized by the Peninsula Pacers, the same organization behind the Door County Half Marathon, the Peninsula Century Spring Classic and several other great Door County athletic events.
