Registration Opens for The Clearing’s Winter Program

Registration is now open for The Clearing Folk School’s Winter Program classes, which start Jan. 4 and end Feb. 26. More than 80 day-classes, many of which run multiple weeks, are being offered this year. In addition to an impressive variety of classes, the Winter Program represents something unique and wonderful about Door County – an amazing group of 64 volunteer instructors who generously share their time, along with their considerable talent, for the benefit of the community.

Classes are published online at theclearing.org. Catalogs should be in Clearing student mailboxes this week around Thanksgiving, and are also available at the Jens Jensen Visitor Center during business hours of Monday through Friday from 8 am – 4 pm, except Nov. 24 & 25.

Clearing Cover 2015/16 winterRegistrations are accepted in-person or through the mail prior to the “lottery” deadline date of Dec. 16 (see catalog or online information for detailed lottery information). After Dec. 16, registrations are still accepted and classes will be filled on a first come, first registered basis, as space permits.

The Clearing’s Winter Open House, scheduled for Dec. 10 & 11, 10 am – 4 pm, is a perfect time to register for Winter Program classes. Come and enjoy freshly mulled apple cider and tasty treats while cozying up to the crackling fire. The Clearing’s indoor Christmas forest is also a delight for the senses.

The Clearing will also host a “Welcome Winter” wine and cheese evening reception on Dec. 4, 3 – 6 pm. Tickets are $15 per person, $25 per couple, and reservations are required.

The Jens Jensen Visitor Center is located at 12171 Garrett Bay Road in Ellison Bay. For more information call 920.854.4088.
