The Kewaunee County Public Health Department is accepting completed registration forms for its annual Back-to-School Program, which helps to provide some of the required school supplies for approximately 300 children each year.
The families that qualify for the program are those on WIC, Food Share or BadgerCare, as well as those that participate in the free or reduced-price breakfast or lunch programs, or are experiencing emergency circumstances.
Access a registration form online at kewauneeco.org/departments/public-health/events-programs/back-to-school-program; call 920.388.7160 to request a mailed form; or pick up a form at the Kewaunee County Public Health Department, 810 Lincoln St. in Kewaunee; the Algoma Public Library, 406 Fremont St.; the Kewaunee Public Library, 822 Juneau Street; or Nicolet National Bank, 210 Center Dr. in Luxemburg. The deadline to turn in forms is Aug. 1.
Those who meet the registration deadline will be first to pick up supplies. Forms received after the deadline will still be accepted, but those families will be assigned a later pickup time. A postcard notifying registrants of their assigned time will be mailed out about a week before the event. No phone registrations are being accepted. Those who want to help the program can send monetary or supply donations by Aug. 8.
