Renaissance Faire Returns with Royals and Rogues

The Door County Renaissance Development Group, Inc. is preparing for its 3rd Annual Renaissance Faire. Favorite performers such as the Noble Cause Jousters, Juggling Gypsy Geoff, and 3 Pints Gone will return along with Queen Catherine, King Edward and their Royal Court.

At the faire, patrons of all ages have an opportunity to enjoy jousting, juggling, battles, blades, royals and rogues while learning about Renaissance weaponry, dance and fashions. Families cheer on their favorite armored knights and enjoy shopping for treasures in a unique tented marketplace before tackling period treats like a giant turkey leg or mug of ale.

“We’d like to see as many people come out as possible. We try to have something for everyone, from locals to tourists,” said Sandy Stetler, event organizer. “It is important that everyone have a good time at the Faire. And of course, as with all non-profit groups and special events, we would welcome additional sponsors, donors or volunteers.” Proceeds raised from this event provide for educational programs in Door County public schools and libraries.

The Faire runs for two consecutive weekends: June 30 – July 1 and July 7 – 8. Faire hours are 10 am to 6 pm on Saturdays and 10 am to 4 pm on Sundays. The event takes place on a private farm one mile north of Carlsville at 5226 Monument Point Road. Tickets are $12 for adults, $9 for youth; seniors, children, and military are free.
