Respect the Badger

Before each hole at the Red Putter’s entertaining and challenging course, a short rhyme gives advice on how to best approach the challenge ahead. Read them and your chances of success increase: “Between the badger’s paws is best, your shot will bank just right, but if you wander right or left, an extra stroke your plight.”

Speaking of the badger, make sure to show your respect and pat him on the head; perhaps pose with him for a souvenir photo. He’s hole number three, and if you get a hole-in-one, it’s a free game of mini golf!

Tracy Yttri, owner Bob Yttri’s daughter, said, “We’re all about affordable, family fun.”

For a little place, they have the largest mini golf tournament in the US. The tournament takes place August 7 with sign in by 8 am and start by 9 am. Three rounds of golf later and the best total score wins. The winner gets $1,500, one mighty big trophy, and a red jacket.

“We just had some people here practicing,” Tracy Yttri said. “People come from all over.”

Don’t forget to guess how many M&M’s (sometimes plain, peanut, or pretzel) before you leave, you just may win yourself the whole jar.

The Red Putter is open from 10 am – 10 pm daily, and is $4 for adults, and $2 for children 6 and under. For more information, call 920.854.5114 or follow them on Facebook: “The Red Putter Mini Golf.”
