Rest In Peace, Billy Triplett

Soundman extraordinaire Billy Triplett died of cardiac arrest on Sunday, Aug. 11, at the place he was happy to call home the last few years, Holiday Music Motel in Sturgeon Bay. Here’s a post on the motel’s facebook page:

“The world in general and Steel Bridge music in particular suffered a devastating loss last night. Around 8 pm Sunday evening, our dear friend, music collaborator, and resident engineer Billy Triplett succumbed to cardiac arrest. Though he had long suffered from various health issues, including diabetes and congestive heart failure, his passing was sudden and unexpected. Memorials are being planned and we will keep everyone informed of developments through this page (facebook.com/holiday.musicmotel). In the meantime, we’re asking people to collect their favorite Billy stories, jokes, and photos. Though no words can express the depth of our sadness, we know that Billy would want us to celebrate his life as he lived it, with great revelry, laughter, and irreverence.”
