Meadow Trail at Crossroads at Big Creek – its oldest and most-used hiking trail – has been resurfaced thanks to generous support from Cellcom Green Gifts, the United Way Foundation, the Raibrook Foundation, Zion United Methodist Church and the Friends of Crossroads.
The trail was created and surfaced more than 20 years ago, and now it’s firm and level enough to accommodate strollers, walkers, wheelchairs and other mobility-assistance equipment.
It will also serve as the start and finish of the hybrid 12th annual Crossroads Trail Run on June 19, with chip timing and awards. The start times will be staggered to provide safe distancing between runners and walkers who choose to participate in person at Crossroads, or they may participate remotely between June 17 and 19.
Habitat Healers will continue to meet on Tuesdays, 4:30-6:30 pm; and on Saturdays, 9:30-11:30 am. Volunteers will be planting trees this week. No registration is necessary. Meet at Crossroads’ Workshop, 2041 Michigan St. in Sturgeon Bay.
