Retired Police Officer Publishes Book

After 41 years in law enforcement, John Good has drawn on his professional experiences to write Blood on the Badge and incorporated his personal insights into the mental-health challenges that police officers face when one of their own falls in the line of duty.

In the book, a fictional police force in Greenfield, Illinois, is rocked by the deaths of two officers – one during a routine traffic stop, and the other while on vacation in Door County. Are they related? Can the protagonist, officer Matt O’Neal, solve these deaths and recover his bearings?

During Good’s career, he served as a patrol, field-training, juvenile, bicycle and school-resource officer; an honor guard member; a defensive driving instructor; and a crime-scene technician. He is credited with creating the position of Officer Friendly/Crime Prevention Officer, which earned him a Glenview Public Safety Award.

Blood on the Badge is available from Outskirts Press and through Amazon.
