Reuse Your Running Shoes

Do you have running or other athletic shoes that don’t work for you anymore? Used running shoes will be collected from June 20-23, at Crossroads at Big Creek in Sturgeon Bay during the Crossroads Trail Run week. The Friends of Crossroads will have a shoe-hanging tree near the front of the Collins Learning Center for runners to deposit them.  Working together with Fleet Feet of Appleton, the shoes will be given to someone in need.

On June 23, Friends of Crossroads at Big Creek will host their annual 2k, 5k, 10k Crossroads Trail Run and Walk, drawing in outdoor recreational enthusiasts from around the state and nation. The trail event takes place the 200-acre Big Creek, Ida Bay, and Cove Creek preserves.

All participants and volunteers upon crossing the finish line earn a native plant, a performance t-shirt, locally made refreshments and awards. For more information and to register, visit CrossroadsRun.com.
