Rev. Olin K. Sletto Joins Church of Christ the King and Holy Nativity of Jacksonport

On Nov. 5, the Right Reverend Matthew Gunter, Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Fond du Lac, will install the Reverend Olin K. Sletto as Vicar and the Reverend John Koski as Deacon at the Church of Christ the King, Sturgeon Bay, and Holy Nativity, Jacksonport. Father Sletto accepted the call to the historically joined churches in June, and Reverend Koski was recently appointed Deacon.

The Celebration of a New Ministry will include events at both churches, beginning at 10 am with the call to worship at the Church of Christ the King at the corner of Michigan Street and 5th Avenue in Sturgeon Bay. Following the sermon, the entire event will move to the Church of the Holy Nativity (3434 County V; just west of Jacksonport) for the institution service and a reception in Jameson Hall.

Father Olin and his wife Connie “retired” to Jacksonport in 2014, but found the pulpits at Christ the King and Holy Nativity were just the right challenge for his desire to continue to serve God as a minister.

Deacon John Koski was ordained in the Diocese of Milwaukee. He works in the special education department at Sturgeon Bay High School.

The Celebration of a New Ministry is an especially joyous occasion for the congregation, which has been seeking a new vicar since the retirement of the Very Reverend George Hillman in 2015. Episcopalians and the public are invited to join church members welcoming Father Olin and Deacon John.
