Ride the Door County Century Sept. 8

With the spring thaw in progress, look ahead to open roads and the Door County Century (DCC) – now in its 41st year – on Sunday, Sept. 8. The weekend after Labor Day provides a sweet spot between the county’s busy summer and fall seasons, welcoming bikers from around the Midwest to the peninsula’s scenic back roads. Choose the 30-, 50-, 70- or 100-mile courses, and enjoy an open start between 6 and 10 am. Registration opens April 1 at doorcountycentury.com/Default.aspx.

Six rest stops along the marked courses will offer signature food, ride staples, beverages and technical support, and support vehicles will be available. The ride ends at the Door County Fairgrounds with entertainment, New Belgium beverages and a postride dinner catered by The Marq. And don’t miss the DCC Bike Expo on Saturday, Sept. 7.

In the meantime, the DCC is getting a new look, a new logo and a fresh website, and its sponsors are planning another round of great activities and offerings.
