Riders, Horses Featured in Door County Open Show

The Door County 4-H Horse and Pony Project is hosting the Door County Open Show on July 21 at the John Miles County Park horse arena. This is an opportunity for youth and adults to show off their riding and horsemanship skills for judge Dan Grunewald.

The show will have Pleasure classes in the morning beginning at 8:30 am that include English and Western classes as well as Driving and Trail.

Gymkhana, the speed-type events, take place in the afternoon.

Riders from third grade through adult, whether a 4-H member or not, are invited to join the fun. Cost is $20 each for the morning session or afternoon session or $5 per class. Entering for High Point Award is an extra $5.

Pre-registration is available. Visit door.uwex.edu/4-h-youth-development/4-h-horse-and-pony for the registration forms, show bill and waiver form. All riders who pre-register will be entered into a prize drawing.

Spectators are welcome and there is no admission fee to come down to the arena and watch horses and riders. Bring a lawn chair and plan to have lunch as a food booth will be available. For more information, call 920.559.1240 or 920.493.1188.
