Ridges Celebrates New Boardwalk with Dedication Ceremony

On Sept. 1, The Ridges Sanctuary held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for its new 1,800-foot-long Hidden Brook Boardwalk that connects the sanctuary’s new Cook-Albert Fuller Center with the original boardwalk between the range lights. The boardwalk was inspired by the late Lee Traven, a Baileys Harbor native and Ridges volunteer, and made possible by a donation from Mequon, Wis., resident Marsha Krueger. Eric Peil, of Peil Construction, along with The Ridges’ Wednesday volunteer work crew began constructing the boardwalk last September. Doing the honor of cutting the ribbon were (from left) Bill Wolff, Jim Jauquet, Eric Peil, Dennis Peil, Michel Roy, Brian Forest, Lynda Withbroe, Dick Krueger and Ed Miller.
