Right to Live Workshop at TAP

Habibah (Biba) Sheikh will lead the Right To Live workshop beginning Jan. 26 at Third Avenue Playhouse (TAP). Public performances are scheduled for March 1-3.  

Registration is still open for adults and students (middle and high school) to participate in the workshops. There is no fee to participate, and no audition is required. No prior stage experience is necessary. Participants will meet for several hours each week in preparation for three public performances at TAP.  


Habibah (Biba) Sheikh

Sheikh will present a multi-week voice, movement and performance workshop centered on the real narratives from refugee and diaspora communities of Middle Eastern origin. Workshop participants will create an original play based on the workshop sessions.

The workshop will be presented alongside an exhibit at the Miller Art Museum titled Arab World (March 2-April 16). The exhibition will feature site-specific installations, poetry, performance and visual-art pieces, with artists hailing from the United States, Holland, Belgium, Greece, Lebanon, Tunisia, Egypt, Jordan, Oman, Syria, Iran and Iraq.
