The Righteous Babes will play Aug. 20, 7 pm, at the Peg Egan Performing Arts Center, 7840 Church St. in Egg Harbor, as part of their first headline tour. The free concert will take place in the outdoor amphitheater, so take a chair or blanket. Carry-ins are also welcome.
These female artists perform under Ani DiFranco’s legacy label, Righteous Babe Records, and their vocal blend and musicianship shine through as they support each other and play one another’s original songs.
The group comprises three independent groups: Gracie and Rachel, a chamber-pop piano-violin duo who have appeared on NPR’s Tiny Desk; Holly Miranda, a folk-rock guitarist who has toured with Karen O; and Jocelyn Mackenzie, a percussionist, electric ukulele player and former member of Pearl and the Beard.
In case of rain, Peg Egan concerts are held at Alpine Resort under its tent. To find out more, call 920.493.5979.
