Road Construction Continues in Fish Creek, Wraps Up in Southern Door

Resurfacing work between Ephraim and Sister Bay should be completed by the end of October, but major disruptions will start in Fish Creek after the Fall 50 run Oct. 26.
Highway 42 will be open to northbound traffic only beginning at Shore Road. Southbound traffic will be detoured just south of Gibraltar School. The official detour will route traffic down County F to County E, then back to Highway 42. Vehicles will also be able to cut back to Highway 42 via Peninsula Players Road. Southbound detours will continue until the winter work shutdown in mid- to late November.
In southern Door County, crews are wrapping up work on Highway 42 from County X to Highway 57. The $3.75 million project resurfaced 7.8 miles of roadway and is expected to be completed by Oct. 25.
