Rogue Theater Brings “Under Milk Wood” to UUF

Rogue Theater’s latest production, Under Milk Wood by Dylan Thomas, returns to the stage for one powerful performance held at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship in Ephraim on Feb. 20 at 1 pm. Internationally acclaimed for its eccentricity and adored for its lovelorn lyricism, the play follows the comings and goings of the inhabitants over 24 hours and by giving us a glimpse into their lives – both peculiar and somehow peculiarly ordinary – it manages to say something universal about the human condition.

Thomas was a Welsh poet who also wrote short stories and plays. He often performed the readings himself. Under Milk Wood was first aired on BBC in 1954, one year after Thomas’ death. The reading gives an account of a spring day in a small Welsh town.

Actors for this reading include David Clowers, Stuart Champeau, Lola DeVillers, Ross Dippel, Carol Jensen-Olson, Joe Kopek, Ralph Murre, Samara Southard, Lori Wier and Mary Beth Williams.

This “play of voices,” directed by Clowers, will be performed as a staged reading at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship in north Ephraim. A $5 donation is appreciated. For more information call Rogue Theater at 920.818.0816.
