Rogue Theater is running its next comedy show, A Bad Year for Tomatoes, written by John Patrick and directed by Stuart Champeau.
In it, famous actress Myra Marlowe escapes her Hollywood career by renting a New England cottage for a year to write her autobiography and escape the show-biz craziness. She successfully rejects her agent’s offers for a new TV series, but her nosy neighbors are tougher to deal with. To shoo them away, she invents a mad, homicidal sister who is supposedly locked in a bedroom. The mad sister – Myra in disguise – pulls off the ruse until a lumberjack/skunk trapper falls for her.
The cast of Lola DeVillers, Stuart Champeau, Chris Milton, Donna Johnson, Jamie Buesing, Chris Weidenbacher and David Clowers will perform in the Oasis Center at the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 1756 Michigan St. in Sturgeon Bay, through July 25. The Friday and Saturday shows start at 7 pm; the Sunday matinee starts at 2 pm. Tickets are $15 per adult and $10 per student.
