Rogue Theater Presents “The Gingerbread Girl”

The students of Rogue Theater’s Youth Theater Camp will present The Gingerbread Girl by D. M. Larson on July 11, 6 pm at the DC Arts Center.

This play picks up where the classic tale of the Gingerbread Man left off and adds some new, humorous twists. The baker, played by Jackson Toivonen, decides to make a gingerbread girl, but promises that this one will be kind and sweet. The townsfolk – played by Kenny Gregory, Violet Hilsabeck, Amy Horner, Jett Ulrich Miccah, Lillan Price, Elisabeth Prechel, Mackenzie Schroeder, Jacob Smith and Hadley Walker – fear this decision will be a dreadful mistake.

The students in this year’s camp range in age from 9-14 and come from all over Door County. Students have worked on scripts, set design, costumes and props, and director Lola DeVillers has worked with them to increase their creativity as well as develop their theater skills.

The July 11 performance is free, but donations are appreciated.

The DC Arts Center is located at 917 N. 14th Ave. in Sturgeon Bay.
