Roots Music Performances at DCA

On June 29, Door Community Auditorium (DCA) will present an evening of high-energy roots music from virtuoso mandolinist Sierra Hull and old-time Minnesota-based band Pert Near Sandstone.

Since age 11, Hull has been recognized as an expert mandolin player, astonishing audiences and fellow musicians alike. In her young career, Hull has performed at the White House, Carnegie Hall, and the Kennedy Center and collaborated with musicians like Alison Krauss and Béla Fleck. Now a seasoned touring musician in her mid-twenties, Hull is performing her most inspired and accomplished work to date.

Fellow bluegrass fiddler Alison Krauss says of Hull, “I think she’s endless. I don’t see any boundaries. Talent like hers is so rare, and I don’t think it stops.”
