Rossol Fine-Art Photography at Northern Door YMCA

Award-winning fine-art photographer Jim Rossol will exhibit his work during December at Northern Door YMCA. Rossol’s images depict and interpret his visual world in terms that are representational, abstract or somewhere in between.

“I intend for my representational work to enable a new awareness and appreciation of familiar things layered with emotional and textural interpretation,” Rossol said.

Although he is comfortable offering up images that are drenched in color, he prefers the simplicity of black and white.

Rossol won second place Judges’ Choice in the 2010 Around the County photo contest; received a Photography of Note designation in the 2014 Hal Prize from the Peninsula Pulse; and won third place in photography in the 2015 Hal Prize for “County Fair Flavor.” Rossol has been juried into the Guenzel Gallery at Peninsula School of Art, The Hardy Gallery, Miller Art Museum and the Cedarburg Art Museum for public exhibitions.

Northern Door YMCA, located at 3866 Gibraltar Road in Fish Creek, is open 5:30 am–8 pm Monday through Friday, 7 am–5 pm Saturday, and 9 am–3 pm Sunday.
