Rossol’s Photography on Display at Cedarburg Art Museum

Two of Jim Rossol’s photos have been juried into the Cedarburg Art Museum. A team of three jurors evaluated 100 digital artwork entries from eight states for the museum’s sixth annual juried exhibition, titled Night Owls, and 68 works were selected. Rossol (jimrossol.pixels.com) is an award-winning fine-art photographer who lives in Baileys Harbor.

Night Owls will be on display Oct. 2, 2019 through January12, 2020. The public is invited to the opening reception with artist awards Oct. 5, 3-5 pm.In Night Owls, artists interpret the nocturnal theme with great variety. Rossol’s photo “Moonbeam,” captured at Cana Island Lighthouse, is representational. His abstract “Pearls and Ribbons of Light” – an interpretation of the magic-carpet ride – was captured at the Door County Fair. By accentuating line and shape, Rossel tries to lead the viewer to a new interpretation of things previously seen or to enable the viewer to become aware of something never really seen before.
