Rotary Clubs Receive Grant for Door County Dental Initiative

Rotary District 6220 Grants Chairman Joel Sullivan and Governor David Yeghiaian awarded a $13,000 grant to the Noon Rotary Club of Sturgeon Bay and the Breakfast Rotary Club of Sturgeon Bay for the Door County Dental Initiative, in collaboration with the Ministry Door County Medical Center (MDCMC) Dental Clinic. Yeghiaian was in Sturgeon Bay on Aug. 22 to deliver the news to a meeting of all of the area Rotary Clubs.

Dental Clinic manager Tanya Fischer said, “This fall the clinic will be scheduling patients three days a week. The Rotary’s generous grant will help us better serve our patients on a more regular basis and help improve their oral health. Poor dental care impacts our overall wellbeing. Without the support of our community, like the Rotary Club, we would not be able to expand our operations and help those individuals that need a dental home.”

Rotary District 62220 encompasses 42 clubs with more than 2,100 men and women serving throughout Northeast Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The $13,000 grant was part of the $42,000 available for the District Project Grants this year.
