Rowleys Bay Resort’s Fish Boils Are on Pause

Grandma’s Swedish Bakery’s Pecan Rolls Are Not

After a trial run opening during the July Fourth weekend, owner Jewel Ouradnik announced on Instagram that the restaurant and fish boils at Rowleys Bay Restaurant and Resort are going to be closed for the time being.

“With the business model we have and our lack of staff, we can’t guarantee the same incredible experience we are normally able to provide, and we don’t want to muddle through with a poor product,” Ouradnik said. “We do have some good news … expanded hours and services in Rowley’s Pub and Grandma’s Swedish Bakery.”

Rowley’s Pub – a quaint bar with a water view – serves a variety of beer, wine and “vacation drinks”: colorful, tropical-style drinks that are playful options for your happy hour or getaway. They will be adding food options as a new service in the wake of the restaurant closing.

Grandma’s Swedish Bakery is known for its giant, tasty pecan and cinnamon rolls made in the traditional Swedish style using a recipe that has been passed down through generations.
