Half Marathon Opens Run for a Cause

In 2019, 29 runners put their feet to the pavement in the Run for a Cause program, raising a combined $23,985 for area charities. Each participant receives a free race entry to the Door County Half Marathon with a commitment to raise at least $250 for charity. Now in its ninth year, the program has raised more than $179,900 for charities. 

In 2019, those charities included the Alzheimer’s Association, the American Heart Association, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Door County Habitat for Humanity, the Door County Medical Center Ministry Fund, the Door County Medical Center Skilled Nursing Center Project, Friends of Plum and Pilot Islands, HELP of Door County, the Sturgeon Bay Moravian Church, The Clearing Folk School and the Wilson’s Disease Association.
