Running Green Routes Announced

Running Green for Crossroads is scheduled for June 23 at 9 am and offers three routes to accommodate all running levels.

The 1.24-mile walk/run is a scenic loop that takes walkers/runners along the gravel and wood chipped trails around Hauser’s Pond, through the coniferous woods, over Big Creek, and through the pine plantation.

The 5K (3.1 miles) course follows the perimeter trail of the Crossroads property, through the coniferous woods, over the wooden bridge north of the Hanson House historical site, and to gravel upgrade beside an old orchard. Runners will then head on grassy trails past the Stonecipher Astronomy Center and follow a trail around Crossroads’ original 53 acres. Runners then head back towards the Leif Everson Observatory and through The Wild Ones Meadow and cross Big Creek to the finish line. This trail includes single and double tracks with woodchip, gravel, and dirt foundations. Each mile is marked.

The 10K (6.2 miles) course follows the 5k route, and splits off at near the Utah Street Entrance. Runners will leave Crossroads property and continue up Cove Road to hook up with a private trail system. On the return, runners will merge unto the 5k route to the finish line by our major sponsor, Ministry Door County Medical Center.
