Ryf Wins Third Straight Door County Half Marathon

Jason Ryf crosses the finish line for his third straight Door County Half Marathon victory.

Jason Ryf of Oshkosh took first place in the 3rd Door County Half Marathon today at Peninsula State Park in Fish Creek.

Ryf finished in 1:09:51, besting second-place finisher Francis Flanagan by more than three minutes. Ryf also won the race in its first two years.

Laura Ankrum, the 2008 women’s winner, returned to the top of the women’s division with a time of 1:29:40.

Over 1,062 runners took part in the Half Marathon, up from 787 in 2009. An additional 419 ran the Nicolet Bay 5K, up from 331 last year.

Next year’s Door County Half Marathon is May 7, 2011.
