The holiday season is rapidly approaching and along with it, the sound of bell ringing for The Salvation Army at many Door County locations. The annual kettle campaign starts Nov. 16. Proceeds collected stay in Door County and are used locally for critical situations involving rent, food, transportation and utilities, for community members in need. One special project provides new gym shoes to many of the children attending Altrusa’s Back-to-School Fair.
Some ringers will play an instrument, dress in uniform or costume, sing or bring children and pets. The campaign runs through Dec. 29 and many two-hour slots are available for volunteers. For more information and to volunteer contact Nancy at [email protected] or 920.883.7886.
