The Salvation Army of Door County had a record-setting 2020 Red Kettle Christmas campaign thanks to the hard work and generosity of the community. The amount raised was just over $105,000 – the highest total ever. Door County was also the state’s top-ranked county among Salvation Army service-extension units, meaning that the organization does not have a building or paid staff members in the county but still provides services.
The money collected in the kettles stays in Door County to help community members who are in critical situations involving rent/mortgages, utilities, medical needs and transportation, and it helps to support projects such as Altrusa’s Back-to-School Fair.
This fall, the Salvation Army’s Coats for Kids campaign distributed 250 new coats to local children through the Boys and Girls Club of Door County and HELP of Door County.Do you know someone who needs assistance? Call the Salvation Army 24/7 at 920.885.1260, and leave a message.
