Santa’s Back on the Tug

Santa Claus will make his annual visit to the Door County Maritime Museum in Sturgeon Bay on Dec. 6. His appearance highlights a day that will also include a book signing as well as participation in the popular DOOR CANcer Holiday Home Tour.

Santa will welcome children aboard the Tug John Purves from 10 am to 1 pm. Santa’s visit offers a double treat for the children since it not only presents an opportunity to see Santa, but to also step aboard an historic tugboat.

Once on board the 149-foot tugboat, Santa will eagerly accept children’s Christmas wishes. However, due to the cramped conditions on the vessel, only two adults will be permitted to escort the children through the tug. While they wait, children will be entertained by holiday videos in the Museum’s Reddin Bridge Room.

The book signing and story time will feature A Door County Night Before Christmas and will be held twice at 9:30 and at 11:30 am. It will be read by author Carol Davis and illustrator Jan Rasmussen, both of whom will be available for the book signing.

The Door County Maritime Museum is located at 120 N. Madison Avenue, between the two downtown bridges. For more information call 920.743.5958 or visit dcmm.org.
