Sara Rae Lancaster Joins Peninsula Pulse Staff

Peninsula Publishing & Distribution welcomes Sara Rae Lancaster as its new social-media editor.

She joins the Baileys Harbor publisher of the Peninsula Pulse and Door County Living after serving as an administrative assistant for the Town of Gibraltar for the past three years. Prior to that, she was a freelance writer and journalist in southeast Wisconsin, earning bylines at Milwaukee magazine, the Kenosha News and Reader’s Digest, among many other publications.

Lancaster took over as the editor of the recently released 2021 edition of Door Wedding and joined the team full time May 3. In addition to the wedding guide, her duties include feature writing for Door County Living and the Peninsula Pulse and heading the company’s social-media strategy.

“It’s hard to find experienced, high-quality staff – let alone convince them to move to Door County,” said co-owner Myles Dannhausen Jr. “We were thrilled to find someone with Sara’s experience who is already invested and woven into this community, into our office. She adds a lot to our team.”

Lancaster, who has completed 10 marathons and is an avid hiker and cyclist, will also assist in promoting events for the Peninsula Pacers, the organization that puts on the Door County Half Marathon, Peninsula Century Rides, Door County Beer Festival and several other events.

Lancaster lives with her husband, John, in Fish Creek, where they operate OneEighty Petals flower farm.
“A good friend told us when we announced our decision to uproot our lives and heed his advice to move to Door County three years ago that opportunities you never could have imagined will present themselves,” Lancaster said. “He was right.”
