Saturday in Sturgeon Bay: Fire & Ice

Visit downtown Sturgeon Bay to watch snow and ice carvers turn blocks of snow and ice into works of art beginning at 9 am on Feb. 15! This citywide snow- and ice-carving competition welcomes novice, intermediate, advanced and professional winter artists from all over the Midwest. Carvers will create their masterpieces in front of Sturgeon Bay businesses and have an opportunity to earn cash prizes. Everyone is invited to the award ceremony at the Destination Sturgeon Bay welcome center beginning at 3 pm.

There will also be a free trolley circulating to various stops around downtown Sturgeon Bay, 10:30 am – 2:30 pm. Ride the trolley, stroll the streets, spend the day shopping in-store specials and admire artists as they transform 300 pounds of ice and snow into winter masterpieces! Fire & Ice event brochures with ice- and snow-block locations will be available at local businesses and the Destination Sturgeon Bay welcome center. A People’s Choice ballot will be included in every brochure, so choose your favorite and cast your vote.

The fun will continue Saturday evening during the annual Fire & Ice Gala at Stone Harbor Resort, with live music by The FBI and Untouchable Horns. This black-tie-optional event will feature delectable food, enticing beverages, unusual auction items, fantastic music and a Bubbles and Bling raffle presented by T. Simon Jewelers.

For the third year, the silent and live auctions have gone mobile. Start bidding on auction items Feb. 13 online or by downloading the Handbid mobile app.

Fire & Ice Gala attendees can purchase tickets through Destination Sturgeon Bay. Tickets are $100 and can be purchased individually or as tables of 10. Ticket sales support Sturgeon Bay public-art programs and other Destination Sturgeon Bay events.
