Save the Date for Door County Climate Change Forum

The fourth annual Door County Climate Change Forum will be held at the Stone Harbor Resort in Sturgeon Bay on May 20, 9 am – 2:30 pm. Tia Nelson, Wisconsin environmental leader, will be the discussion moderator.

Speakers include:

Steve Vavrus

  • Dr. Steve Vavrus, senior scientist in the Nelson Institute Center for Climatic Research at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, will speak about climate change and extreme weather, with a focus on the Great Lakes region.

Jeffrey Thompson

  • Dr. Jeff Thompson, executive adviser and chief executive officer emeritus at Gundersen Health System in La Crosse, honored by the White House as a 2013 Champion for Change for the Environment, will discuss Gundersen’s commitment to address climate change as essential to patient care, supporting the local economy and controlling costs.
  • Sharon Dunwoody

 

  • Dr. Sharon Dunwoody, Evjue-Bascom Professor of Journalism and Mass Communication and an affiliate of the Nelson Institute for Environmental Studies, will talk about strategies to communicate effectively with bipartisan audiences about the importance of addressing climate change.
