Savory Spoon Announces New Workshops For Aug 26, 27

Savory Spoon is welcoming students into their kitchen for a pair of upcoming workshops.

In “Just Say Cheese,” Aug. 26 at 6 pm, award-winning artisan cheesemaker George Crave will lead a special class about exploring the craft of making fresh mozzarella. The Crave family has been in the dairy business for more than 20 years.

The menu includes Fresh Mozzarella with Cantaloupe and Blueberry Delight; Mushroom, Bacon and Fresh Mozzarella Triangles; Chocolate Fettuccini with Mascarpone Sauce; Caprese with Herbed Shrimp; Pistachio Crisp with Mascarpone and Seasonal Fruit Compote. The cost is $65.

“Basic Baking” is Aug. 27 at 9:30 am. New to baking, or just want to brush up on some old favorites? Everyone is welcome to this class taught by Rachel Lohman, owner of Analog Ice Cream and Coffee (formerly Drink Coffee). Mothers and grandmas are invited to bring their kids or grandkids. Participants will leave class with three recipes that can be customized into endless combinations of muffins, scones and cookies. The cost of the baking class is $60.
