Savory Spoon Hosts Beer & Cheese Class

Savory Spoon Cooking School will offer a class with a lot of Wisconsin flavors – beer and cheese – on June 15. Sara Hill, cheese educator from the Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board will team up with Chef Janice Thomas to share her knowledge of pairing beer with cheese. Hill and Thomas will even educate on the class on making fresh ricotta.

Hill is the culinary manager and cheese educator for the Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board. She has over 30 years in the specialty cheese business and a former Board member of the American Cheese Society.

The menu for the class includes Savory Mushroom and Cheese Panna Cotta on Lavosh; Sweet Potato, Spinach and Pleasant Ridge Croquettes; Pork Loin with Marieke Gouda and Apricot Mustard; Savory Chocolate Fettuccini with Craves Brothers Mascarpone; and Crème de Ricotta with Rhubarb Compote.
