Savory Spoon Hosts Traveling Sharpener, Lavender Fair

The Savory Spoon Cooking School, 12042 Hwy 42 in Ellison Bay, will host Kelly Lewis, The Traveling Sharpener, July 25, 10 am – 2 pm.

Sharp knives are best for kitchen safety, so now’s the time to get knives – as well as scissors, garden clippers and more – professionally sharpened. (Lewis has separate sharpeners for garden tools and special culinary knives.) Social distancing will be practiced during this outside experience in the schoolyard, and credit cards are appreciated.

At the same time and location, the Savory Spoon Cooking School will also host a pop-up lavender fair – a colorful, fragrant, educational outside event during which you can learn from local lavender farmers Tom and Bonnie Ansley and purchase some of this year’s harvest: bouquets, sachets and buds for culinary use.

Janice Thomas of the Savory Spoon will have samples of delicious lavender lemonade and lavender ice cream, plus recipes to create your own tasty lavender morsels.
