Savory Spoon Presents Kids Cooking Series

Preparing good life skills is essential in a child’s life. Cooking is one essential life skill that Savory Spoon Cooking School in Ellison Bay can help build in their Kids Cooking Series.

At this farm fresh cooking and harvesting event, students will meet at Hidden Acres Farm to tour, taste and harvest organic produce. From there they will relocate to The Savory Spoon to prepare and enjoy lunch with the freshly picked veggies. Students will receive instruction in organic farming practices, basic knife skills, kitchen safety and cooking techniques.

Everyone will leave with recipes. No experience in farming or cooking required, but students should be 7 to 13 years old. Classes are taught by Anna Zasada, elementary school teacher, cooking class instructor and farm assistant, and Chef Janice Thomas, owner and instructor of The Savory Spoon.

Parents/guardians are required to provide transportation from the farm to the cooking school. Parents are encouraged to stay and observe as much of the class as they like.

Classes will be held July 22 & 23. The cost is $45 per student, per class.

Then, on Aug. 29 at 9:30 am, Savory Spoon will feature a special class, “Tea Party with Miss Cocoa.” Bring your daughter or granddaughter for this fun morning of baking together and learn to properly set the table, table manners, and other etiquette. The class is suited for children 6 and up. The cost is $55 per person.
