SBHS Offers “Sister Bay Stories” throughout Summer

The Sister Bay Historical Society, in observance of the village’s Centennial Celebration, offers the series “Sister Bay Stories” every other week throughout the summer.

“A Walk through Sister Bay” is the theme for August 1, and the presenters will be Greg Casperson and Gene Sunstrom, both members of long-time local families.

Casperson and Sunstrom will show a variety of family photos to lead the audience on a pictorial stroll through 1950s Sister Bay.

Casperson is the third generation owner and operator of the funeral parlor founded by his grandfather in 1921. Sunstrom lives in the heart of the village in the same house he grew up in. As a local building inspector, he is familiar with many of the local structures.

The free program includes light refreshments and begins at 7 pm in the Koessl Barn at the Corner of the Past Museum. The museum is located on the intersection of Highway 57, Country Lane and Fieldcrest Road.
