SBVC Announces 2019 Fine Art Fair Award Recipients

Choosing top artists from a park full of talented creators was a big challenge during the Sturgeon Bay Visitor Center’s (SBVC) 21st annual Fine Art Fair. Guest judge Kristi Roenning visited with all 91 artists to make her decision.

In the end, Matthew McIntyre of Mukwonago earned Best of Show for his self-taught mini-canvas paintings.

Awardees in the two-dimensional art category were Scott Menzel of Marion (first place), local landscape photographer Luke Collins (second place) and Kate Stensberg of Brookfield (third place).

Award recipients in the three-dimensional art category were Claudia Winter of Long Grove (first place), Sharon Fujimoto of Amherst Junction (second place) and local artist Kollin Orthober (third place).

Honorable mentions went to Sturgeon Bay painter James Gardner and Neenah wood artists Jeff and Debi Gasper.

Artists who donated a piece to the Fine Art Fair raffle were entered in a drawing for a $100 SBVC gift certificate, and the winners were metal artists Kiaralinda and Todd Ramquist of Safety Harbor, Florida.
