Schaefer, Rtzlaff Earn All-state Honors

Taylor Schaefer, a senior inside linebacker at Southern Door, has been named to the 2022 Wisconsin Football Coaches Association Small School All-State Team on defense. Schaefer, the 2022 Packerland Conference Defensive Player of the Year, was part of the Eagles’ team that won this year’s league title at 7-0 in conference play.

The association also recognized Sevastopol senior Logan Retzlaff, who earned All-State honorable mention in eight-player football as a punter. This season, Retzlaff made the Peninsula Conference’s first team as a punter for the Pioneers, who finished 3-4 in league play.
