The Door County Renaissance Development Group (DCRDG) is pleased to announce they will award $2,500 in scholarship funds this year. These funds in the amount of $500 each will be awarded to four individual students who are continuing their education. The final $500 award will go directly to the Door County school from which the most volunteers join the DCRDG.
Eligible participants in the drawing for these scholarship funds will be either junior and senior high school students who plan on continuing their education, or students who are already enrolled in technical school or college. Students must perform a minimum of four hours of volunteerism for the DCRDG at or prior to the Renaissance Fantasy Faire in order to qualify for these funds. All qualifying participants names will be placed in a drawing and the names of the winners of these scholarship funds will be drawn by the Royal Court at the Renaissance Fantasy Faire (one per day at the final joust). Payment will be made in their name to the school of their choice. Winners will not need to be present at the drawing to win.
The Renaissance Fantasy Faire returns to Door County June 25 – 26 and July 2 – 3 for its seventh year. The continuing growth and popularity of this event, which is geared towards “edutainment” and encourages multi-generational participation, means there is a need for additional volunteers.
Volunteers are provided with meals during their time of service and are provided with free admission to the Renaissance Fantasy Faire at a time when they are not volunteering. If interested in the scholarships and volunteering contact Sandy Stetler at 920.746.6773 or [email protected].
