Schools Receive Mini Grants

The Door County Community Foundation (DCCF) announced that the  Educational Mini Grant program awarded 13 grants totaling $5,000 for the 2023-2024 school year. The four school districts receiving grants for elementary school students are Gibraltar, Sevastopol, Sturgeon Bay, and St. John Bosco Catholic School. The Educational Mini Grants provided by the Max and Gayle Laird Education Fund, a component fund of the DCCF, support projects that are supplemental to regular school curriculum and not currently funded through school budgets. The mini grants can fund up to $500 per project. The projects funded are intended to engage students in activities that are innovative and creative, and range from attendance at live theater performances to outdoor experiences to the creation of a hydroponics indoor garden to a programmable robot – and many more.
