“Science on Tap” Series Begins Earth Day at Door County Brewing Co.

The Forest Recovery Project is sponsoring Door County’s first Science on Tap to celebrate Earth Day on April 22, 5 – 8 pm, at Door County Brewing Company in Baileys Harbor.

Science on Tap is an opportunity to mix, mingle and learn about local ecology. Brief educational presentations will be interspersed with socializing and conversation. A number of experts who work and play in the great outdoors will answer questions about environmental topics. There will be music to begin and end the evening and a raffle to raise money for spring tree planting.

To warm up the house, Ruby James (of WiFEE and the HUZz BAND) will perform a happy hour solo set starting at 5 pm. Dr. Roger Kuhns will educate and entertain with a multimedia presentation on sustainability. A local commercial fisherman will give an update on the state of our lake and fish, and a forestry expert will talk trees and the importance of reforestation. The Door County Folk Alliance will close out the night with a traditional Irish jam.

Science on Tap is being held at the Door County Brewing Company with the help of the Nature Conservancy, the Climate Change Coalition and The Ridges Sanctuary.
