SD School District Moves Closer to Choosing Next Superintendent

The Southern Door (SD) County School District is one step closer to selecting its next district administrator. The three finalists following a special March 13 board meeting are Steve Bousley, principal of Southern Door High School; Sheila Briggs, assistant state superintendent of the Department of Public Instruction; and Chris Peterson, superintendent of the Howards Grove School District.

The district hired the Wisconsin Association of School Boards to lead the search process, during which 22 applicants expressed interest in the vacancy created by Superintendent Patti Vickman’s retirement on June 30, 2021.

Second interviews took place March 23, when finalists participated in another interview with the board; an advisory interview with a stakeholder group of staff, parents and community members; and a facilities tour.
