Seeing the World in Another Way at Meadows

The next show at the Meadows Art Gallery is Another Way of Seeing. The show features four artists whose vision, experience and expression create their own unique direction in visual art.

Joseph Messicci uses photographic methods but not a camera. These large images are painterly with textures and color work that are built on strong compositions. Dottie Diggs is a retired Milwaukee Symphony violinist. She uses camera photography to translate her love of music and musical composition into visual art. A lyrical appreciation of varying color texture and tone brings an emotional impact to the rhythms of the compositions of her work.

Lori Wier works with design and symbols. Each image has some significance to her. It may relate a portion of her life, or portray a relative. David Franke has a strong sense of humor and an appreciation of the unusual. His sculptures create forms of people or creatures with found objects.

The opening reception is Aug. 25, 2-4 pm. Stop in and meet the artists and have a glass of wine. The Meadows Gallery is open from 10 am to 5 pm daily. The gallery is located in the Scandia Retirement Village in Sister Bay. For questions call 920.854.4416 or 920.854.2317.
